QUESTION OF THE DAY: Anyone attending a National Conference on Primary Health Care Access almost certainly agrees that the underlying ideas of primary health care, family and community medicine, and community needs assessment and public health interventions are good ideas.  There always has existed frustration that the larger public does not always appear to share these ideas.

But is it possible that the family medicine, primary care and public health communities have not done an effective job of explaining these ideas to the larger public?  If so, are there better ways of communicating values to the larger public?
